Katie M Little and Timothy Poulton have started working together as DJs in the 1990s. Creating new sounds, the duo has risen from the electronic underground scene of Sydney, and has now released their first album in 25 years. During the lockdowns, that made live music impossible, Mass Experience used their time off club gigs and concerts to produce and record this eleven-track album. The outcome is almost one hour of sensual, psychedelic, and dreamy electronic sounds. And regarding when "Sitting with Demons" was recorded, it is no big surprise that the first single is called 'Coronavirus Crisis'.
"Sitting with Demons" is an album defined by sonic sunshine, bouyant movement, and deeply refreshing taste. On the foundation of funky rhythms, Mass Experience build multi-layer musical constructs of colourful reveries. The psychedelic atmosphere of "Sitting with Demons" is inviting the audience to close their eyes whilde dancing and to let the sounds paint boppy images on the back of their eyelids.
The 1990s background of Mass Experience is somewhat recognizable as the duo implements many elements of pre-Millenium Dream Pop and EDM into their soundscapes. Yet, the lightfooted mood of the album adds a timeless note spreading sunshine in all colours from ultraviolet to infrared.
