The story of "Silhouette Cool" by Copenhagen's Glue Kiss goes back to the year 2017 when the Danish trio released a single with the same name. The two-track release can still be streamed on their Bandcamp profile, and features the title track and the B-side 'Wanna Do'.
Three-and-a-half years later, Glue Kiss have recently released their debut album "Platonic" which features new recordings of both tracks. "Silhouette Cool" was the first ex ante single to the album.


Let's begin with what is different to the 2017 original. The new version of "Silhouette Cool" is produced way better. Also, the three musicians sound a lot more slick now, especially the vocals are performed a lot better than on the 2017 version. And finally, the new version is more dynamic, more energetic, more Punk Rock!
Speaking of Punk Rock, yes that is what this is about. Glue Kiss stand in the late 1970s with one of their legs, and in the mid-90s with the other one. Their independent and body-moving Garage Rock combines the bouyant movement of 77 Punk with the nihilist atmosphere of heyday-Grunge. Hence, their music is a tidbit for fans of L7, The Briefs, The Kendolls, or Schoolgirl Bitch.
