Formed in 2020, Polish quartet Snakedoctors have already released their second album "Joy Free Bowl". But that is not all! The third album has already been recorded, and the fourth is currently being worked on. So if you enjoy their sounds, better follow the band because there is a lot of great music coming up.
Snakedoctors are Robert Porazka (drums), Jacek Karnat (keys, vocals), Jaroslaw Szybowksi (bass), and Wojciech Wypych (guitar, vocals). The four friends from the vibrant city of Danzig in Northern Poland have started playing music together in the times of lockdowns and contact constraints. Not being able to perform live until the global situation gets better, Snakedoctors are using their time writing, producing, and recording.
The music by Snakedoctors revives the later phase of 90s Grunge and New Wave. With massively distorted guitar sounds, a sonorous bass, a steadily rocking drum beat, and gloomily harmonic vocals, Snakedoctors bring the sound of Joy Division, and (early) Depeche Mode into contemporary times. The Post-Punk influence furthermore has something from Neurotic Arseholes, and a slower version of early Dezerter.
Snakedoctors provide us with a stunning album that is dark, melancholic, nihilist, and humourous. For lovers of the recent revival of Post Punk featuring bands like Tåsen Tea Party, Snakedoctors are a hot tip.
