Here is Shedonist's second appearance on MangoWave. In April, their song "Bad Decisions" was featured in the Discoveries of the Week. And if you wonder where that Discoveries section has gone, don't worry. It will somehow come back soon.
LA's quartet Shedonist has hereby produced an empowering song dealing with the topic of toxic relationships. It is a short narrative viewed from the perspective of the person suffering from the imbalance, and then finally deciding to leave, and living for their own good again.
The musical landscape beautifully describes the inner conflict of a person in that very situation. There is the slow, down-tempo verse that musicks the thick swamp of mental health issues caused by a toxic relationship. After the drumsticks go one-two-three-four, a highly dynamic part begins that stands for improvement, development, salutogenetic self-care, and the will to break out of the vicious circle.
Shedonist's new single is deeply empowering and massively empathetic. The song perfectly shows that it is not easy, making a decision like the one described in the lyrics. And yet, the song has the potential to be a helpful support for people suffering from toxic partners' actions. Also, it is an amazing Indie and Garage Rock track that goes perfectly in a playlist together with Skunk Anansie.
Content from the MangoNews will always stay in the MangoRotation playlist for 14 days.
