A year ago, Swedish trio 10,000 Year released their selftitled debut. The sophomore album is out now, and the way the analogue versions of the album are released, are a major titbit for collectors. While the band distributes fifty handnumbered CDs on their Bandcamp profile, three other versions are available. Vinyl lovers can order a green and gold splattered record via Interstellar Smoke Records, Texan label Olde Magick Records distributes the Swamp Edition Tape, while the Forest Edition Tape is available on German Ogo Rekords.

The eight songs on "II" were written and performed by Espen Karlsen (drums), Alex Risberg (bass and vocals), and Erik Palm (guitar). The album follows the story of the previous release on which space vessel "Albatross" explored a strange planet and finally had to flee from its hostility. Hence, "II" narrates the flight back home to planet Earth.
Music-wise, 10,000 Years provide us with brachial and fuzzy Doom Metal. Via heavy and slow movement, the band musicks the journey through vast space, the grim melancholy of lifeless environments larger than the human perception can imagine, and apocalyptic images.
Soundscapes that emerge from Doom, Sludge, and Stoner Metal emphasize the plot in which the crew of the "Albatross" encounters a planet Earth that is completely different to the one they have originally began their intergalactic journey from. The cosmonauts' home planet has become a fantastic dystopia ruled by gods from another dimension such as the Green King.

Dive into a journey narrative through dimensions, galaxies, and a time-spann of ten millenia with this stunning Doom and Sludge album. See you on the 'Dark Side of the Earth'.
