The album on hand is the latest release by Sydney's Morrison Reed. The closed narrative follows the story of a group of young people who untertake a journey to the desert. Having their first LSD trip of their lives, they decide to explore a haunted building in the desert. Powered by the acid and by the will to discover, their journey leads them to several parties. From a boring New Year's celebration over to a nightclub and a pool party, their trip is defined by fantastic images, mind-opening experience, love, and couriousity. As the psychedelic drug's effects decrease, they find themselves at a beach club, recalling the happenings of their wild night. Was it all real? What has really happened? And what is real after all? Everyone who has made experience with psychedelic drugs such as LSD or mushrooms might very likely be able to relate to the content of "Spirit Haus".

Music-wise, Morrison Reed presents his fantastic narrative in a way that perfectly fits the content. Psychedelic and artistic disco sounds build a colourful and gorgeous sonic backbone for the story, and takes the audience into a kaleidoscopic vortex of manifold colours. Space Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Funk, and Art Rock merge to a sonic experience that goes from your eardrums over to your synapses, and then directly touches your heart. Think of Electric Octopus, and Oulu Space Jam Collective teaming up with The Big Mackoofy here.
The narration on top of this thrilling and mesmerizing soundscape is done via Morrison Reed's soothingly warm and gentle spoken word, presenting colourful poetry. This part sometimes reminds of The Stranglers' "Feline", and its opening 'Midnight Summer Dream' especially.
Morrison Reed's "Spirit Haus" is a fantastic sonic narrative. Both, the story itself, and its musical and lyrical realization combine hypnotizing beauty and an exciting golden line.
