When Mark, Joey, Venlo, Youri, and Moos met, they quickly connected over a shared frustration. It was the dearth of good musicians in their environment. So what to do with that frustration? Write a blog? Lock in and whine? Hell no, these five lads did the right thing and took in their own hands to revive the Punk and Hardcore movement of Utrecht. Shortly after this first meeting, their first EP "Sensa" was ready for release - a five-track battlecry for social justice and against living room revolutionaries.

Avondcock (which can be translated to Evening Cock) do not mince words on their debut EP. Hence, "Sensa" is a remorseless call for action. Avondcock clarify that they have had enough of cheap talk and beating about the bush. If you want change and improvement, then you have to get up from your couch and take action.
The five tracks are defined by brutal riffs and harsh breaks. The East Coast Hardcore contains strong influence from 80s style Hardcore Punk, and it is decorated with angry shouts and screams. In 'Blood on our Hands' (my favourite track on this EP), the Rap vocals in the verses support that East Coast feeling once more. No matter how tired you are, this release will wake you up.
