Two-and-a-half years ago, D.C.-based duo Teen Mortgage crashed into the realms of Punk, Post Punk, Stoner, and Garage when they released their first EP "Life / Death". With the bouyancy of a jackhammer and the elegance of a wrecking ball, Ed and James are back and present their sophomore release "Smoked" via King Pizza Records - a record label with a name so great, it makes me hungry. Thus, here we are with five new tracks hot as the desert sun and snottier than thou.

"Smoked" is opened by the energetic moshpit destroyer 'Shangri-La' that directly leads into the dynamic title track. In the first half especially, Teen Mortgage play fast, merciless, and hrilling UK-style Punk and Post Punk with a rad Garage sound. The following track 'Ghost Girl' and 'Can I Live' let the Stoner influence increase which then finally climaxes in the boiling heat of final track 'Valley'. Therefore, 'Smoked' can be read as a wild night that begins with violent dancing and serious drinking which then is continued with some strong sativa weed until it ends somewhere between dunes and rocks in the morning.
