"A Play at Voices" is the latest album by LA's Justin Hulsey. The nine tracks are full of passion, reflection, soothing energies, and warmth. It is indeed an album for the dreamers, for the hopeful, and for the lovers. Also, "A Play at Voices" is an album for lovers of short stories or volumes containing several short narratives. Nine songs tell nine little tales, each of them defined by emotional states such as new-found freedom, hope, decampment, and wanderlust.


With his heart-warming and soothing vocals, Justin Hulsey tells these tales. All instruments on "A Play at Voices" were recorded by Justin Hulsey and Justin Glasco. The result is a sonic reverie that combines the bittersweet melancholia of post-90s Alternative Rock with the lightfooted energy of contemporary Indie Rock. As a special ingredient, a certain Post Punk-ish, or rather Dream Rock-like atmosphere cloaks this soundscape like a warming blanket.
