On their self-titled debut album, London's Heart Through Sacrifice let us dive into a fantastic narrative. A dozen of chapters, including prologue and epilogue, tell the story of an orphan boy and a female warrior who struggle and fight to get their dignity and humanity back. Both protagonist suffer from the harsh loss of loved ones, and thus they connect and find something good to fight for within a cruel world. They both have been born onto a planet that is hostile to life after it has been devoured by an evil wraith.
Heart Through Sacrifice wrap epic storytelling up in the perfect musical way. And no, I am most certainly not talking about Power Metal. Prog as heavy as it can be intertwines with sweet harmony and epic soundscapes. The brachial rhythms are a headbanger's delight while the sophisticated song structures will please fans of intelligent Rock and Metal. The intense metallic themes musick the brutal circumstances the protagonists have to bear while the melodic and symphonic motifs musick the fantastic and strange world this story is set in. Comparable to GRIOT, Heart Through Sacrifice know how to combine thrilling narratives and heavy but intelligent music.
Music from every post will stay in the MangoRotation playlist for 14 days.
