Little do we know about the Portland-based duo Oll Ef. The two members are brothers who both have played in plenty of bands and released a lot of music with bands such as Magistrater, VTRN, Sunthrower, Kaddisfly, or Water & Bodies, to name a few. Now for the first time, the two brothers have joined their forces, and the result is the EP on hand, "Ghost of Us All" by Oll Ef. For almost half an hour, the duo presents stunning soundscapes to dive into. Time and space stand still and race with high velocity at the same time when Oll Ef play their thrilling sonic narratives that tell us about the endless discrepancy between constancy and progress, and of entropy.

The soundscapes on "Ghost of Us All" vary between progressive and artistic Post Rock à la Russian Circles, cinematic and atmospheric sounds comparable to Six Days of Calm, harsh metallic attacks that will please fans of Year of no Light, and ice-cold waves of sound as might know them from bands like Noorvik. Hence, Oll Ef powerfully represent the Post Rock genre in at least two ways. Their EP "Ghost of Us All" stands for the immense potential of the genre, and also it shows how diverse and versatile Post Rock can be. This EP should be listened to from beginning to ending, and the closer you listen, the more of the gorgeous details will reveal themselves. Masterful and mysterious!
