The five-track EP on hand is the debut release by Cornwall's producer and musician Alima Dove. ALIMA has packed the EP with a dynamic mix of R'n'B, Glitch, Rap, Grime, and artistic sound constructs. On five songs, the gifted artist creates a versatile cocktail of atmospheric, hypnotizing, and powerful sounds. The result is sweeping blow, a timeless set of anthems for the clubs, for the street, for your next workout.

Regarding the vocals which often flow between mesmerizing chants and forceful rap, ALIMA somehow reminds me of Aaliyah, and M.I.A. - two absolute legends. But ALIMA cannot be reduced to these comparisons at all; neither does her music sound like a modern-day copy of either of those two artists.
The experimenal beats that Alima Dove has produced for her debut EP derive from the vibrant electronic underground of the United Kingdom. Glitch beats rage over the first four tracks with an energy of a tornado, and the destructive power of a B-52 bomber. Only the final track 'Fuel' is a bit more atmospheric in its beginning until its sounds slide into some dynamic Drum'n'Bass.

ALIMA's "Who Am I Now?" is a sheer powerload. The genre-merging EP is so full of power, it has the potential to destroy dancefloors - in a good way! If you want to make Glitch Hop great again, here's your ambassador: ALIMA.
