In 1965, Bob Dylan sang about the "Tambourine Man". About 56 years later, London-based duo Ex en Provence finally published a song called "Mrs Tambourine Girl". In their new single, Samuel Deschamps and Jan Blumenrath tell the story of three girls in Indian Kolkata who break free from the norms of society and escape the rigidity of their school life to fully enjoy life instead. It is a story about freedom and empowerment. And you most certainly do not want to mess with the tambourine girl, or would you really like her to throw away your vinyl records?

Ex en Provence are yet another proof that musically, we are encountering another Summer of Love. The mix of Power Pop and Brit Pop played by the duo is deeply influenced by the revoltionary era of the late 60s and early 70s. Somewhat psychedelic, and powerfully energetic, Deschamps and Blumenrath provide us with a song that follows the heritage of The Beatles, The Byrds, and a certain The Libertines-vibration.
