Genre: Folk Rock / Indie Folk
Origin: Cambridge, England

First things first, this song is not about the boxer called Daniel Dawson.
In the year 1812, Daniel Dawson attended the horse races in Newmarket, Suffolk. Allegedly, he poisoned several horses to fix the races. Being put on trial under the Black Act of 1723, Daniel Dawson was found guilty and consequently faced a death sentence which was executed via hanging in Cambridge's Castle Hill Prison.

"The Ballad of Daniel Dawson" is the newest single by Newmarket's Louise Eatock, also known as Flaming June. The powerfully dynamic Folk song will be featured on Flaming June's upcoming album "Hope in a Jar" which is expected to be released this Autumn (Northern hemisphere).
"The Ballad of Daniel Dawson" is a song driven by an amazing harmony and energetic movement. Flaming June has hereby created a stunning and thrilling piece of Folk music. It is a timeless and exciting piece full of passion and dynamics. As a huge fan of Crazy Arm's "The Southern Wild" and Anneke van Giersbergen I can easily put this song on repeat until Flaming June releases her new album.
