If my research is correct, "What Feels Good" is the third EP by New York City-based artist Sy Caldera, following previous releases "Agape" (2013) and "Hasta La Bye Bye" (2019). The latest EP features four tracks on which Syd Caldera delights our ears with her very own style that she calls Cowboy Alt-Rock. It is an emotional release, full of passion, friendship, self-care, and positivity. The title song of the four-track EP features guest vocals by Jocelyn Mackenzie.
Now, what does Cowboy Alt-Rock mean? I would describe the style on Syd Caldera's "What Feels Good" as a sensual mix of Alt Country harmony, late-90s Alternative Rock melancholy, and Indie Folk lightfootedness. Mostly acoustically and always smoothly, Syd Caldera conjures colourful soundscapes that spread a comfortable and pleasant air. "What Feels Good" is a perfect EP for the day's last glass of red wine on a comfy couch in a room with lights turned low. Alternatively, the four-track release also fits a campfire ideally.
