Six weeks ago, we listened to Andi Jackson's single "Antennas". The psychedelic track is featured on the second solo album by the Mancunian artist which is the object of this review now. Together with his guests, multi-instrumentalist Andi Jackson has written, composed, and recorded ten songs that are so versatile the album can hardly be categorized. The most dominant features are a strong impact by artistic Prog Rock and experimental psychedelia. Apart from that, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Shoegaze, Noise, Post Punk, and some avant-gardist insanity have left obvious footprints on the musical landscape of "Sub Horror".
Each of the ten tracks on "Sub Horror" display another chapter of this trippy sonic reverie. Coherence can be spotted, but like in a dream it is not linear. Instead, Andi Jackson's sophomore album moves in figures and ways, the human mind can only comprehend after waking up. While in it, you better let yourselves go to the beautiful images, and the colourful soundscapes.
