Artist Introduction: Riva Lovette

The story of Riva Lovette goes back to the year 2015, when guitar player Boogie started Riva Lovette as an instrumental solo project. A year later, Chris joined and added to the sound with his bass. The Boston-based musician also works as a producer and thus supported German artist Boogie by taking care of mixing and mastering the recordings by Riva Lovette. The future is unwritten, but the present became a bit more interesting when American vocalist Aliumccm came to be third and so far final member of Riva Lovette. It was the year 2020 when the former one-person project became a trio, and when Riva Lovette started recording their first Alternative Metal songs with vocals - „Lie to me“, „Crooked“ (both rom 2020), and „Deadweight“ (2021).
The sound created by Boogie, Chris, and Aliumccm is massive, heavy, dark, and melodically melancholic. Riva Lovette recycle the best elements of 90s and millenium-era Alternative Metal and Nu Metal and represent them with a shiny new paint job. Riffs heavy enough to make Thrash Metal heads bang like crazy are presented on an insanely deep and sonorous soundscape while the create a colourful calleidoscope of flickering lights. The three songs that the trio has recorded so far roll like a heavy war machine and yet they are as sylphlike as a drone hovering between battlefields and basement dancefloors. On top of the versatile, stunning, and colourful soundscapes built by Boogie and Chris, vocalist Aliumccm proves to be a master of the manifold different voices. Compressed shouts sting the eardrums like a hail of needles, guttural grunt and growls make the earth shake, and the clean vocals appear like ark sermons or a comforting cover of black silk.
Riva Lovette successfully revive the melancholic sound of late-90s Alternative Metal without digging into pathetic boppy grounds. Instead, the German-American trio combines heavy and brutal music with honest emotions and thereby creates the perfect soundscape for everyone who understands that passion, darkness, and full force do not have to disbar from each other. With their curren line-up, Riva Lovette present a contemporary and absolutely honest version of Alternative Metal – this is the music for long nocturnal rides on the bus or the train, the soundtrack for ordering a strong drink and taking it on a gloomy dancefloor, and the sound for getting some distance from the buzzy everyday and gazing at the stars. Riva Lovette is a band to remember, and a trio that revives the golden of Alternative Metal without getting overly nostalgic.
