I love Hardcore and many related genres. Although, from to time, the structures, themes, and motifs tend to bore me. That is when I wish there was more innovative acts. And fortunately, those artists exist. Let me hence introduce you to Norwegian quartet Shevils who released their third full-length album "Miracle of the Sun" on May 07. Shevils are Anders, Anders Emil, Andreas Andre, and Johan. Further diversity in the band memebers' names is given by Marcus who played the additional guitar on the track 'Monsters on TV' (video below).

The musical influences on "Miracle of the Sun" reach from the sheer force of Hardcore and Hardcore Punk over to intelligent and atmospheric Post Hardcore. The songs are furthermore presented with a moshpit-ready fuck-off-attitude and a very dominant fuzz. Partially, the low and fuzzy tones make Shevils reach into realms of Sludge or Sludgecore à la 16.

With the lead guitars rolling over the soundscapes like a hot rod, and the polyphonic shouts and vocals shooting across, I am partially reminded of Swedish Hardcore Rock'n'Rollers The Kendolls. Despite those comparisons, Shevils predominantly sound like Shevils. The band has created a wholesome sound combining loudness, force, and tempo with intelligent arrangements.
"Miracle of the Sun" is a powerful banger for moshpit, skate park, or work out.
