Prick up your ears, because here is a newcomer band from the Pacific Northwest that is definitely worth keeping in mind. Elizabeth Dupuis and Gillian McMahon are The Sleepy Haunts, and they released their debut "Queendom" last December. So, let's have a closer look at the eight-track release from the young duo.

The Sleepy Haunts provide us with soulful Indie Rock. Their style features musical elements from Alt Country, Alternative Rock, Garage Rock, and is altogether smooth and gentle. Catchy tunes are created by distorted guitar riffs and driving rhythms. The songs do not need many riffs, instead the melodic parts are created by the thrilling vocals which are frequently supported by smooth backings.
The Sleepy Haunts play music not only for a young audience. Love, life, coming-of-age with all of its facets, and the realization that life is not always fair are concerned and thus, the band easily bonds with the listeners. Fans of Ohio's Punk band Detention might enjoy this although The Sleepy Haunts play a completely different style of music. The Pacific Northwest duo hereby shows that they are a young and talented band with a lot of potential.
