Emma Hunter - Nightingale
Release Date: April 16, 2021
Length: 04:13
Genre: Art Pop / Alternative Rock
Origin: Oxford, England
In her previous single release "Here I Go", Oxford's Emma Hunter sung about a person that was wondering whether they could be better off when leaving their dangerous partner. The song was featured in the Discoveries of the Week, by the way. Emma Hunter's new single lets the narrative continue, as the protagonist falls in love with another person and hopes for a chance of a better life.
Different to the folky tunes of "Here I Go", the narrative has now moved over to a jazzy enviroment. Together with Rosie Bruce (violins) and Tom Bruce (drums), Emma Hunter lets the darkness of Alterative Rock merge with gloomy Jazz and hence creates a wholesome and artistic soundscape. The anthemic chorus shines like a bright sunray while the verses resemble rainy streets. "Nightingale" is a powerful Art Pop song that will not only please fans of Nancy Sinatra.
